She explained what was happening, gave us plenty of time with him, and her calm demeanor eased my anxious heart. Hannah radiated strength and understanding.
My Daddy spent his last few weeks battling COVID-19 at Houston Methodist of the Woodlands. The day my mom and I went to say goodbye, Hannah was his nurse. I had spoken to her a few times over the weeks he was in ICU and she was always informative and professional.
However, the day my Daddy was healed in Heaven, Hannah was a strong and comforting presence to us. She explained what was happening, gave us plenty of time with him, and her calm demeanor eased my anxious heart. Hannah radiated strength and understanding. She didn't know Daddy, didn't know what an incredible, joyous man he was. She just knew that he was loved.
When she found out the day of his passing was my parents' 49th wedding anniversary, she got my mom a piece of cake and brought her a beautiful gift. Something my Daddy would've picked out for her, too. Hannah's kindness, thoughtfulness, and the love shown to us on the worst day of our lives did not go unnoticed. She was a true blessing on a very dark day.
