I trusted Vanity to do exactly what she said. I cried and told her how afraid I was. Her presence was peaceful and her voice calmed me.
I met Vanity the morning I was admitted to the COVID-19 unit. As I was taken from ER to the COVID-19 Unit, my soul began to calm ever so slightly. When the doors opened, a nurse walked up beside my bed. She said "Hi, I'm Vanity. I am going to be your nurse and I am going to take care of you." I felt a connection with Vanity, a soul connection. I trusted her to do exactly what she said. I cried and told her how afraid I was. Her presence was peaceful and her voice calmed me. It took only a few minutes before I was more peaceful, and I realized my prayers were being answered with Vanity. She spoke strength to me and Jesus used her in every way a nurse can be used. I cried, but the stark fear was lifted. Vanity carried me through one of the scariest times of my life. She spoke peace, and she displayed the love of God with her actions and professionalism. She was safe as she worked yet she let me know I was important and I personally mattered to her. She wore her safety gear and she made me feel safe and cared for. She assured me that I was ok and they would care for me. She brought me into the unit and was there as I was safely taken to the 10th floor after my negative results were received. Thank you, Vanity, you make a difference and I am forever grateful. When my family could not be with me, God sent me a sister in Christ.
