I had a 5-hour surgery. Pat was the 2nd nurse to take care of me on that day. She just came in and made me feel that everything was going to be ok. We prayed together and I cannot tell you the difference that made for me. I was so blessed to be able to have my husband stay with me. He would not leave to eat, so Pat brought him crackers and a soda until he could get something to eat. She kept her eye on me the entire night. She made sure I was not in pain. The kindness and love she showed made me feel as if I had always known her.
I was so worried because of COVID. Pat eased my fears. Sentara is very fortunate to have her. She made my stay at the hospital one that I will always remember. Her kindness showed in everything she did for me. I pray she knows that during the time she took care of me, she was God's hands extended. Her love and compassion helped me get through a very scary and worrying operation. Thank you. I will always remember your kindness!
