On behalf of LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma, I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to the Emergency Department staff for all of their assistance with an organ donor. Transplantation was made possible as a result of their hard work, effort, and professional courtesy. Your clinical staff served as helpful resources as well as collaborative colleagues in order to provide the most effective and efficient care for this patient and his family. I would like to personally thank Kristi Pratt RN and the entire ED was helpful in every way! It was a pleasure to work with them and they were, without a doubt, key players in the positive outcome surrounding this organ donor. Their help made it possible for individuals they didn't even know to have life-saving transplants.
This donor was able to donate both kidneys to recipients in dire need of transplants.A special thanks to Kristi who helped to resuscitate the patient and worked as an amazing team player throughout the night and who stayed over hours past her shift to make sure the patient stayed stable enough to make it to the OR.
We could not have done it without the hard work of Kristi and the ED team! You all made the difference in the ability of this patient to be an organ donor.Lives were changed forever by the decision this patient made to donate, along with the hard work of the ED staff.
