Hannah was the night nurse for my mom. After being transferred from Northport DCH for a Cath procedure, my mom repeatedly told me, "I do not want to stay at Big DCH". She kept stating that the care is not the same and she doesn't like it there. Well, Hannah, along with many other nurses, quickly changed her perception of "Big DCH".
I have been in healthcare for over 30 years. I can state that Hannah is one of the best nurses that I have seen in a long time! Her attention to detail and compassion are second to none. Her first night caring for my mother, I rested well because she instantly demonstrated her knowledge, skill, expertise, genuine care, and concern for my mom.
One of the things that exemplifies a DAISY Nurse is the demonstration of compassion, kindness, and the difference he/she makes in the lives of those to whom care is entrusted. So, for me, it's not what Hannah does, it's how she does it. I watched her for 2 days be incredibly patient with my 81-year-old mother. She did not rush her. She took her time to make sure she was comfortable and each time before leaving the room she always asked if my mom needed anything. Hannah assured me that my mom's bed was in a low position, call light in easy reach, every "i" dotted and every "t" crossed.
