Christina was about to get off her shift and told the patient she could drop the notebook off on her way home. She met the patient at the center and gave her the notebook.
Christina is very versatile and flexible with whatever is needed for the department. She has been a preceptor for new hire nurses on the unit and makes sure they are competent in what is needed for the department.
Christina was discharging a patient who had had a procedure done in the cath lab. The patient was with her for about an hour and was given discharge instructions. Once the patient had left, she was cleaning the recliner that the patient has used and found the patient's dialysis notebook, with schedules, meds, doctors list and numbers, and medical information. She called the patient's number and there was no answer to the home number, so she called the cell. The patient was unable to come back for the notebook because they were going straight to the dialysis center but could come back the next day.
Christina was about to get off her shift and told the patient she could drop the notebook off on her way home. She met the patient at the center and gave her the notebook. The patient was very appreciative of Christina, that she made sure they got the notebook, knowing they would need it at the appointment. Christina went out of her way to get this patient's belongings back, something she didn't have to do. Christina won the #GoodHelp for this! Christina has been a great role model and team player.
