John went above and beyond to find a way for us to be able to say goodbye as we were told she was reaching the end of her beautiful life.
My mother was transferred to Penn Highlands DuBois for emergency surgery to fix two holes in her stomach. John was assigned to be her nurse and also our main way of communication. The next day when things started to go downhill, John made sure we were aware of all updates and assured us she was free of pain. John went above and beyond to find a way for us to be able to say goodbye as we were told she was reaching the end of her beautiful life.
Upon meeting John at the hospital, he treated us with such kindness and compassion. We knew our mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother was in the best of hands when she passed. John provided our family with comfort knowing she went peacefully. As we are completely heartbroken by our earth-shattering loss, we are filled with immense gratitude for not only John but the entire ICU team. My mother was such an amazing woman and meant the world to so many. We cannot thank you enough for being there with her for her last breaths. We know you all are under so much stress and the kindness and love you give to all patients do not go unnoticed.
John, thank you for doing all in your power to comfort our family on one of our worst days. We are eternally grateful. May God bless you always.
