Amanda helped me gather all my personal belongings for me to help me prepare to leave.
I had my procedure and was very fortunate to have Amanda as my nurse. She went above and beyond, always checking in on both my physical and mental health. She treated me like I was her family and made sure everything was taken care of without me ever having to ask.
When I arrived late at my room, Amanda was at the end of her shift, but she made sure that I was well taken care of before she left. Amanda was my nurse again the next day and was a blessing to me. She came in early and asked me if I had ordered breakfast. I was neither hungry nor aware of the time. I did not answer her, and she then asked me if she could order breakfast for me, to make sure I didn't miss out.
Then PT entered my room and started getting me ready to get out of bed. Amanda offered PT her assistance and this enabled me to leave my room without the IV attached to the pole. Throughout the day, she came in and made sure that all my needs were taken care of. She made sure I received my pain medication on time. Amanda helped me gather all my personal belongings for me to help me prepare to leave. She made sure that I understood the home-care instructions, my medication, and provided me with my follow-up appointment date. She answered my questions and provided me with specific instructions on how to take my pain medication for the doctor's visit.
When my ride arrived, but the transport had not, she arranged for another nurse on the floor to take me to my ride. I truly felt that my mother was taking care of me, always making sure that I was fine and taking care of all the details so I could focus on recovery.
