With Nurse Kerri's creation, the dressings stayed up to 3 full days in place encouraging healing.
Nurse Kerri exemplifies a true professional and exemplary definition that describes what a nurse should be in all facets of care. She has a bedside manner that is second to none and goes above and beyond the call of duty at all times. Her demeanor puts her patients at ease as she explains answers to any and all questions and concerns that her patients may have.
She meets head-on solutions to unfamiliar situations utilizing her overall knowledge and outstanding creativity. She created a barrier from existing materials in a new and innovative way that helped prohibit the stoma and the adjoining casing from continuous leaking and opening that unfortunately blew open, pouring out against the skin onto the bedsheets. This caused the need to change the dressing an average of 2 or more times daily, inciting the already extremely raw and sore area. With Nurse Kerri's creation, the dressings stayed up to 3 full days in place encouraging healing.
Nurse Kerri is a wonderful mentor to other nurses and to those who are interested in seeking a meaningful career choice. Nurse Kerri is truly an asset to the Memorial Regional Hospital Staff. She is warm and welcoming and has made me feel like part of an extended family. I am so very grateful.
