While I was a patient at MVRMC, I was hospitalized for a Lobectomy. I lost a part of me that day and was in excruciating pain. While I was there, I went through multiple nurses but none of them went above and beyond like Ramon did. Ramon was my nurse on the night shift. Even after long hours of work he took extra time between rounds to come and make sure I was not in pain and was always attentive on checking if I needed anything. If I had a question he always had an answer. I always knew what was going on whenever there were any changes regarding my health.
No matter the circumstance Ramon always had a smile. He made me feel comfortable and cared for. Nurses like him make a change in people's lives, that is why I believe Ramon deserves the DAISY Award - because he shows his patients the care and attention that makes them miss home a little less and makes the pain a little less. He shows passion for his job and hope for the future. Even though I might be missing part of my lung, Ramon is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for making my stay better and making me feel special. My family and I appreciate you!
