Special recognition goes to Lina Shu for exemplifying all that we stand for at PMC. Lina arrived to work just as a patient was arriving at the ER who only spoke Mandarin and was having difficulty communicating with staff. Though this was not her patient, Lina jumped right in and was quickly able to ascertain what was in fact a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment. Her calm demeanor, knowledge, teamwork, and effective communication with both the patient and the family led to the timely care and transfer of this patient for the best possible outcome.
