My mom is in her 70's and was hospitalized suddenly. My family was very concerned. I called the unit to check on my mom and thankfully Charlotte answered the phone. She was immediately calming! She listened to my concerns and was very reassuring and she answered all of my questions and... I had a lot of those!
My mom was apprehensive as she hasn't been hospitalized many times. When I mentioned how helpful Charlotte was to myself and my Dad her response was, "oh yes, Charlotte was so sweet! She took such good care of me." Charlotte is a very competent nurse but her compassion not only for her patients but for the families was above and beyond expectations!
When I saw this award, I knew that I needed to take some time to nominate her. I always say that working in the medical field is so important. The job and be learned, but not compassion and empathy... you either have it or you don't. Charlotte definitely has all of it. There are no words to express our gratitude to Charlotte. When I would call and check on my mom Charlotte would always address me by my name. That always amazed me! How did she know it was me??!! It made me feel like I was talking to an old friend.
I would always smile when Charlotte answered the phone. I always looked forward to getting a recap of my mom's reports for the day from Charlotte. Charlotte is a wonderful asset to Franciscan Health Dyer. My family thanks all of the nurses, doctors, techs, and anesthesiologists that took such great care of my mom. Thank you!
