Mr. Greenwood has continued to excel in public service as one of the pioneer nurses assigned to the COVID Vaccine Clinic.
Mr. Dexter Greenwood started his nursing career in 1998 at Susan B. Smith McKinney, a Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, which is part of NYCHHC as a PCT. In 2005, he became an LPN. Seven years later in 2012, Mr. Dexter went on to become a Registered Nurse graduating from Helene Fuld School of Nursing with his associate's degree in nursing and then enrolling in St. Francis College earning a bachelor's degree in nursing graduating in November of 2013.
In November 2014, he transferred to Kings County Hospital Center Emergency Room Level 1 trauma center developing new skills as a professional ER nurse working as part of the emergency multidisciplinary team. He was also a strong patient advocate for underserved and minority patients. Mr. Greenwood transferred to Woodhull Hospital in 2018, where he practices as an ambulatory care nurse in the specialty clinic educating patients with acute and chronic conditions. He works with medical and surgical specialist patients with excellent customer service skills, helping the patients navigate the complexities of their health care.
With the advent of COVID, Mr. Greenwood has continued to excel in public service as one of the pioneer nurses assigned to the COVID Vaccine Clinic. He had the honor of giving the first COVID vaccine injection and ten-thousandth vaccine at Woodhull hospital. His outgoing personality and willingness to help have made him a great asset to the Woodhull family with staff requesting his service by name to vaccinate them.
