Not only does Alan exemplify the Veterans Affairs core values, but he exemplifies my core values of honor, courage, and commitment which are instilled in me as a proud Marine.
I have had two surgical procedures within the past six months at the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC. The high level of care I received during both of my surgeries was evident to me that the medical staff has a high level of commitment to their Veteran population. I would like to thank everyone involved with my pre-surgery, day of surgery, and post-surgery care. Both of my post-surgery recoveries took place on 4B South.
During the second surgery, I was hospitalized for six days. I needed some serious medical and emotional care and help. With this said, there is one person I would like to individually recognize. His name is Alan Forsyth and he cared for me during both of my recoveries. He exemplifies the Veteran Affairs core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence.
Alan Forsyth treated me with the utmost respect and dignity. He was highly attentive to both my physical and emotional needs. His level of commitment to me getting better both physically and emotionally was unwavering. His professionalism and positive attitude reassured me that I was receiving the best care. You talk about a person taking pride in who he is and what he does - that is the definition of integrity, commitment, and excellence. Not only does he exemplify the Veterans Affairs core values, but he exemplifies my core values of honor, courage, and commitment which are instilled in me as a proud Marine. I could never put into words the effect Alan had on me while I was hospitalized twice within the past six months on 4B South recovery ward and as I continue to recover at home.
