Many of our patients know Heavenly, look for Heavenly, ask for Heavenly, because she is exactly that to them... Heavenly!!
I would like to nominate Heavely Quiambao, RN for the DAISY Award. Heavenly is the heartbeat of adult cardiology at Woodbury. Her charismatic and upbeat personality brings joy and happiness to our patients and our staff. She is always willing to help, assist, and/or facilitate solutions for anyone in our practice. Many of our patients know Heavenly, look for Heavenly, ask for Heavenly, because she is exactly that to them... Heavenly!! Heavenly goes above and beyond on a daily basis to deliver exemplary patient care and ensure an amazing experience. She will accommodate her schedule to ensure patients can come at different appointment times. For example, during this pandemic, Heavenly came in many days at 7 am and went to the patients' cars to stick her fingers for INR tests, so the patients didn't have to exit their car. She will also stay after hours if necessary, to ensure patients' medications are authorized through their insurance. Heavenly has helped create a nursing task force here in Woodbury and is now the supervisor leading the rest of the RNs in the practice.
She treats all her patients and co-workers with dignity and respect to ensure no one is excluded. She serves as a role model for the rest of the nursing team in the practice. She is also exceptionally gifted in viewing and identifying complex scenarios such as critical patient problems. For example, a patient of Dr. B's came into the office this month for his usual monthly INR check with Heavenly. She immediately noticed a change in the patient's condition and overall appearance. She quickly handled the situation by placing the patient in an exam room, doing vital signs and EKG. She identified a change on his EKG and escalated to an in-office MD. An ambulance was called and the patient was brought to Plainview hospital and transferred to NSUH for cardiac cath, which resulted in the patient having open-heart surgery. The patient called the office this week to thank Heavenly for saving his life.
As the practice manager, I hear it from patients and staff on a daily basis, "thank god for Heavenly", "Heavenly saved my life", "Heavenly is the best". Her work is always of the highest quality. I believe Heavenly is most deserving of this DAISY Award. It is my honor to nominate my colleague and my friend.
