I had been a patient at NCH Baker initially for quadruple bypass surgery. I had challenges w/CHF that after 37 days in the hospital and 7 at Brookdale. Brought me back around Christmas and I stayed a few days after excellent treatment and returned home in later. I returned to NCH baker for internal bleeding - that is when Carla attended to me as a nurse. I spent 50 plus days in the hospital. I was cared for by many excellent providers, nurses, doctors, techs, and hospitalists.
However, I was at a weakened stake this time of admission. I needed transfusions and by then my regular dialysis every other day. 3x a week. Perfection is witnessed in the little things especially one can witness the difference between professionals "just doing the job" and there who are dedicated to their profession. Carla was an advocate for me during my hospital stay. When some of my blood samples went away she followed up and located them. I felt cared for the most during my time on baker because of her. I was very grateful for her proactive stance throughout my healing process. Carla clearly demonstrated "a healer's touch".

Carla is a dedicated professional who is knowledgeable and caring. She has an upbeat, calming personality that generates confidence in the treatments being administered. She demonstrates a spiritual strength that transcends and encompasses those she is taking care of. She is also a wonderful mentor for the student nurses that join her.
