Once the patient was in a room she found the patient and returned her phone. The patient was overjoyed she could not believe that Christie had done all of what she did for her.
Christie goes above and beyond for all of her patients all of the time. One specific incident recently Christie had a patient that became very weak around 2 o'clock in the morning. Upon assessing the patient's vital signs and drain from her surgery. Christie realized that the patient was bleeding excessively into her drain. Christie notified the provider and after multiple interventions etc. the patient had to be transferred for emergency surgery at 4:00 in the morning.
The patient was alone and afraid and could not have visitors during this time. Christie provided comfort and reassurance to the patient. The patient was worried that her cell phone would get lost in transport. Christie offered to keep the patient's phone for her so that she wouldn't lose it as she said it was very important because she can't remember anybody's phone numbers and they were all in her phone.
After the transfer and shift change, Christie found out that the patient was in surgery and would not be in a room until later in the afternoon. Christie got off of work that morning went home and slept for a few hours got up and headed to locate the patient to return her phone. She was able to locate the patient who was not yet in a room, so she had to wait until she was in a room to return it. Once the patient was in a room she found the patient and returned her phone. The patient was overjoyed she could not believe that Christie had done all of what she did for her. She was very grateful. This is just one example of the kind of nurse Christie is. She truly is a DAISY!
