Wissie created a surprise room with baby girl streamers and decor for our last night prior to c-section. So amazing!
We would like to share a bit about our amazing experience with you! I arrived in triage on Friday morning. B was quick to get me set up for monitoring and helped me move to where my husband and I have been since.
I experienced a bleed from placenta previa. Further adding complexity, I have Cystic Fibrosis and a few more medications than the average bear. We have met many wonderful nurses and providers who have made our stay comfortable, safe, educational, and smooth. For a floor where the majority of patients stay on a short-term basis, the nurses here are amazing at long-term care as well. Overall, we both feel like we are nicer people from being around such a smart and caring group. We are grateful and sad to leave the unit! Highlights of our stay include:
• Nurses learning chest PT so they could sub-in if I needed some PT when respiratory therapists were not available. (Special kudos to Wissie for spearheading the learning session!)
• Wissie bringing us playing cards and teaching us a game to play that was a great occupier of our time.
• Wissie for creating a surprise room with baby girl streamers and decor for our last night prior to c-section. So amazing!
• H's fun, caring and humorous conversations!
• S's thoughtful care, fun stories, and genuine nature.
Every nurse provided supportive, attentive, educational, and listening-first care. That being said, Wissie went above and beyond for us. The providers we met (residents, attendings, and maternal-fetal medicine) were exceptional, answered questions clearly, and really made us feel comfortable. Care was always carefully coordinated and consistent. There was never a time where we had a bad experience or something was forgotten on my care plan (which can be a lot with CF), in all 28 days we were here! We are so grateful for our experience and happy we made it past 36 weeks to deliver today!
