Having surgery is a stressful event for everyone, but especially stressful for parents having to watch their children endure such an experience. Michelle Gelsleichter can make some of the most difficult situations more comfortable for everyone involved.
Michelle was nominated by a patient's family who stated, "My daughter had surgery on her foot, it was so nerve-wracking for all of us. Michelle made sure we understood how the surgery went, what the wound would look like and made the extra effort in educating us on the doctors' instructions for caring for her foot after surgery. She is very knowledgeable, caring, and kind. Michelle went above and beyond to make sure my daughter was comfortable and not scared and she was reassuring to me when I needed it most. She is a fabulous nurse."
She was also nominated by a patient who stated, "I was in the hospital for a breast cancer operation. I was so scared, but Michelle made me feel so comfortable and assured me I would be in good hands. She even made sure my family was kept informed of my condition she is truly a wonderful person in the right profession."
