While all of the physicians and nurses who provided care for my father during his stay in MICU were very good and caring, Brett stood out to both myself and my father not only for his nursing skill but also for his care, communication, and compassion. I remember getting the feeling while talking to Brett on the phone that he was not only taking care of my father but for taking care of me and my family as well. He didn't just report numbers to me; he talked to me about my dad and about me and expressed his concern for us during the difficult and unique time we were going through. The last time I saw my father, when we were allowed to come and visit him as his condition declined, the only nurse my dad named by name was Brett. Dad expressed how nice, patient, and compassionate Brett was. For his compassionate care during my dad's last, few difficult days, my family will be forever grateful.
