My daughter was brought to MercyOne by ambulance and initially treated by the trauma team. It was quickly decided she needed the services of a plastic surgeon to repair the extensive damage that was done. In the middle of this horrible experience, an angel named Ashley appeared to care for my daughter both physically and mentally. Our daughter was clearly traumatized, but Ashley was so kind and gentle that she immediately put her at ease. Throughout our evening, Ashley also cared for my husband and sons who were waiting. She sensed that they were struggling so she gave them frequent updates. We will forever be grateful for the compassionate and skilled care that Ashley gave our daughter, and our entire family, that night. She is truly a special nurse and epitomizes everything we love about MercyOne.
