This nurse will soon be taking a leave for a travel assignment and I wanted to be certain she was recognized in some way for the actions that she took and truly showing what an inspiration she is to me and everyone she meets.
Holly is a nurse on 4A/4B and she had just worked a long 12 hour shift that had literally left her staying over until she transferred one of her critically ill patients to the ICU. After completing all of her charting and typing up all of her loose ends, Holly finally was making her way home. While traveling down one of the local freeways, Holly witnessed a Commercial Work Vehicle hit the median on the freeway and the driver of the vehicle was then ejected from the van. Holly immediately pulled off to the side of the freeway and began performing CPR on the driver. Holly remained with the Driver and continued CPR until EMS arrived on the scene. EMS and the ICU had explained this patient only survived due to Holly's response to him. Holly is truly a hero with a heart of gold!!
