She was a young nurse that has blossomed quickly and shown us that Vanessa can too be a Boss!
I remember when I hired Vanessa Martinez, she was a new nurse that was eager and willing to learn all she could. We all meet these new nurses that are ready to be given a chance when others don't. Let's fast forward to COVID Pandemic 2020. I recall that phone call Vanessa was in a panic and very apologetic. Reminded me how she was a new nurse and couldn't put her family through COVID exposure. This was running through all of our minds.
Vanessa quickly changed her mind as she saw her team in the midst of COVID and all hands were on deck. She began COVID-19 testing with us at nursing homes, American Airlines, Amelia Court, Ellis Field House, and soon I would appoint her to the Nurse lead at Eastfield College. I was quickly approached by the Director that oversees all the COVID-19 sites. She asked me if I could allow my nurse to be Operational Lead at the Eastfield location. This meant that Vanessa would not only be lead for the nurse tent where the testing occurs but the entire operation at Eastfield. The temperature tent, the registration tent, the testing tent, and charge of taking 500-900 a lot to being an operational lead; turning out all the fires that occur in one location as massive as this is no walk in the park.
She is doing such a great job to go from a new nurse to running an Operational Lead at Eastfield College COVID and flu. She was a young nurse that has blossomed quickly and shown us that Vanessa can too be a Boss!
