Lisa went the extra mile on her own time to ensure her patient was safely transported from her unit to another.
Lisa received my father in the unit after having a procedure. From the very moment she received report, she demonstrated all of the PRIDE values that are the core of AHS values. My father required an exceptional Nurse who could recognize any early clinical issue and act quickly. Lisa demonstrated her Nursing knowledge and skills. Lisa treated my father and mother with respect and dignity as she cared for my father. They trusted her immediately and felt her strong impact of patient advocacy.
This nomination goes beyond the professionalism and oath taken as a Nurse. Lisa went the extra mile on her own time to ensure that her patient was safely transported from her unit to another. She was committed to making sure that the Nurse who received report was fully informed in order to continue to provide the excellent care he had already received. As a Nurse here at MMC, I could not have expected anything less from my colleagues. Lisa truly demonstrated all of the values that make the nurses at MMC so outstanding.
It was truly a remarkable experience to be on the receiving end of PRIDE values in action. My father continues to tell anyone he can about the wonderful Nurse he remembers when he woke up after his procedure. He was truly in awe of the care he FELT and the care he received. At 90 years, that speaks volumes. I cannot say Thank You enough to Lisa for the incredible care she provided my father and my mother--exceptional nursing care, exceptional kindness, compassionate caring and communication skills. Lisa is truly committed to ensuring that the highest standards of care were provided to my father and mother during a very vulnerable time.
