Kristin was a constant calming influence during my entire stay.
I would like to recognize a nurse named Kristin who works days at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado in the surgery recovery department on the 4th floor. I checked in to the ER with a fever, no COVID-19. Been trying to shake it for two weeks. After a cat scan, they found an abscess on my intestine that had ruptured. After surgery the next day, I was put in the care of Kristin and others. It was a constant flow of lab people, vitals checkers, IV changers, pill pushers, cleanup crew, surgeons, and cafeteria workers. A bit overwhelming, but Kristin was the one who took the time to talk, and more importantly to listen. She got to know me as a person, not as a patient. She allowed me to be vulnerable, to show emotion without shame. Kristin was a constant calming influence during my entire stay. I had mostly excellent treatment from everyone, but Kristin went above and beyond treatment. I made a new friend. She deserves a field of daisies in my opinion.
