I called a patient to do my usual discharge phone call, and that's when I heard all about what kind of nurse David was and is. A patient that was here for two solid weeks, was so happy to be home and said he owed so much to the 3rd floor crew; he said especially David.
He went on with praises naming a couple of names and saying how great his care was. Then there was this nurse David. David is so caring, kind, compassionate, a very well-rounded young man who takes care of his patients like NO other.
"I felt like I was this young man's father. He took care of me like my son would with the same care, concern, and just passion for another human being. His care never wavered at any time. Every time he stepped inside my room it was about me, my care, and getting better."
He ended the call saying he would have never gotten such great care anywhere else and he was very thankful for all of his care and especially for David. "It may be the only reason I'm alive and well."
