Jess is absolutely fantastic, she's so supportive and understanding, she's always there to listen and answer any questions we may have, and I always feel really reassured when we see or speak to her.
My son had the Mitrofanoff procedure in September 2020 and Jess leads his care at LGI. Jess is absolutely fantastic, she's so supportive and understanding, she's always there to listen and answer any questions we may have, and I always feel really reassured when we see or speak to her. She's brilliant at reassuring my son and she tuned into him really quickly, meeting all his medical and emotional needs in any way she can.

I nominated Jessica Meyer (Paediatric Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist) for The DAISY Award 11 days ago, however I wanted, if possible, to add more to my comments as yet again, Jess has gone above and beyond in her role. My son had the Mitrofanoff procedure in September, as mentioned in my original nomination, and he still has the indwelling catheter. Overnight the catheter came out and my son was extremely distressed and panicked. It was actually Jess's day off, but I called her (not realising she wasn't in work) and she has just done a video call with us whilst at home explaining how to do intermittent catheterisation and walking us through each step while I did it. I cannot thank her enough for her support; she's avoided us going into hospital and yet again has gone above and beyond in what she's done. She calmed my son (and me!) down, she was so together and just a tower of strength in a really stressful situation. I really wanted to add this to my nomination if possible, as it's a huge step forward in my son's recovery and psychologically moving to this next step of catheterisation is really significant.
