Pauline is what I consider to be an ideal nurse. She is highly professional, very personable, technically skilled, knowledgeable, organized, and extremely approachable.
Pauline has treated me in the infusion suite for a number of years, I luckily (clinically) do not have to attend very often but whenever I do, Pauline always takes time to offer support and makes an effort to know me as a person. Due to the open nature of the infusion suite, I witness Pauline do this with each and every patient. Many of the patients attend the unit on a frequent basis and you can see that they all respect, trust, and really care for Pauline in the way she does for others.
As well as caring expertly for the patients I have observed Pauline with the team, she leads by example and shares her knowledge to support junior staff.
I know that if I have a clinical query, I can always approach Pauline, I completely trust her advice and feel reassured to have the ability to contact her. This was particularly important during the COVID era, as I work as a nurse. I greatly valued Pauline's advice during this difficult time to ensure I was acting responsibly.
It is so reassuring to know that whatever the query Pauline always gets back to me in a timely manner and makes a very large and busy service so personal. I can't thank Pauline enough for keeping me well and making the business of being a patient 'okay'.
