I have worked alongside Shannon Steele for a couple of years, but in the recent Covid-19 pandemic I have been able to see her compassion and caring nature appear above and beyond her calling.
We had a patient who was actively dying due to Covid. The husband of this patient was just recently brought in to be evaluated for his Covid symptoms and received the call that his wife of many years was actively dying. Shannon was not the primary nurse for the patient but she facilitated first a face time, then a face-to-face, so the husband could see his wife one last time. Shannon brought the patient up herself and helped the other family members face time and see their parents together as the patient passed.
Shannon is the epitome of excellent nursing care.
