One night, Nurse Germain Ilunga came to my room and turned off the alarm of my IV pump. As soon as he turned off the IV pump, I started to cry because I felt sad and down that night. Although Germain wasn't my nurse that night, he took the time to talk to me, made me feel comfortable, and continued to check on me through the night to make sure that I was okay and ask if I needed anything. Over the next days of my hospital visit, Germain was my nurse and took really great care of me. He helped to manage my pain and even made sure that I did not feel alone given the no visitor policy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The way Germain treated me made me consider becoming a nurse like him because of the compassion and empathy that he showed to me. Germain is not just a good nurse, he is also a team player and an amazing person.
