It was Valentine's Day and my friend's husband was in Palliative care at NAMC. Ashley was his nurse for the weekend and on Sunday, around lunchtime, in came a group of nurses with a big bouquet of flowers and balloons that Ashley had arranged to be delivered. The card was signed by each staff member and they made sure that her "last Valentine's Day" with her husband of over 50 years was special. He passed later that day, but that moment was something she will always remember. Thank you NAMC, for having nurses like Ashley that still care for patients. I know she had so many more to deal with that day, but for a few minutes, she made us feel like we were her only ones.
