Pamela Speers has been a consistent and stabilizing presence on the unit for a significant period of time. She is firm yet compassionate and is well respected by the patients she treats. Pam models strong therapeutic boundaries while going above and beyond to meet the needs of the unit. Her goal is not to be well liked, but to assist her patients in understanding the importance of healthy relationships and boundaries. Pam will always go out of her way to assist a patient, a family member, or a colleague. Pam is clearly the go-to person for answers, support, and patient information. Pam knows her patients well as she is invested in her work and their wellbeing. She is pleasant, professional, patient, and knowledgeable.
Pam consistently demonstrates an amazing amount of empathy. She is able to validate patients and their families as she clearly understands the impact of mental illness and hospitalization. Pam handles the stress of inpatient acute care with grace, class, and humor. She has managed the changes that have occurred over the years and maintained commitment and dedication to the hospital and its profession. I am honored to work with Pam.
