She became my advocate and protected me from the most momentous fear I have ever experienced.
Leigh Ann consistently meets all the following criteria: caring, compassionate, friendly, professional, responsive, role model. I don't know what to really say about this very nice lady. To me, she has really been a good nurse. She is a very good worker and doesn't mind taking time with a patient. If you call her, she is on her way. Thank you!!
The first night I arrive in the COVID unit, I was so sick that it felt like my body was failing. I was disoriented, terrified, anxious, worried, nervous, and afloat in a sea of confusion in a foreign world. She had been doing an entry interview with me and asked when I had tested positive for COVID. When I gave her the date, she said that she would have to give me another COVID nose test to confirm that I was eligible for the plasma transfusion. I started to cry because the one from the doctor's office had been so painful and I begged her not to test me. She came over, sat on the bed, and told me that it wouldn't hurt like that—that she knew how to administer it in a less painful way. She was so soothing, heartfelt, and confident that I believed her. When my world had shrunk to one tiny point of fear. She became my advocate and protected me from the most momentous fear I have ever experienced. I trusted her and she helped me every step of the way during the next four days, exhibiting great professionalism. For someone so young, steadfastness, confidence, understanding, and above all, the most special, but so often elusive, gift of a good nurse, TLC in its very essence. My experience with this devastating illness will always be tempered with the cocoon of kindness and compassion of her.
