Lisa Eng was born to be a nurse. She goes above and beyond her duties as a student nurse to learn about her patients as individuals. She cares not only about treating the physical body but also about connecting with her patients. Lisa displays exemplary evidence-based nursing practices.

Lisa has continued to perform amongst the top of her nursing class. Lisa has completed a nurse externship and has committed to the UMMC’s scholar program, transiting from her practicum placement into her first nursing job. Lisa served on the University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Nursing (UMSON) board to ensure that her fellow students remained informed about issues that concerned their education and profession. Lisa’s peers note that she has advocated for diverse groups of individuals in the health care system and is motivated to reduce disparities amongst groups to create health equity.
