We knew and looked forward to the nights Nicole worked
Nicole Thurwager was our nurse the first night we were admitted to the hospital. My daughter was just 9 days old, we had been medevaced after what we thought was something small turned out to be something very serious. Our daughter had emergency surgery at midnight the night that we arrived. She had a serious abscess and infection. Nicole was her nurse right after her surgery. I didn't even catch her name that first night we were so overwhelmed.
Nicole was our nurse a couple of days later and that's when we connected. I like to think our daughter got special treatment, but I know Nicole provides this level of care to all her kiddos. She made sure as new parents our needs were taken care of too. Our daughter had all of the baby toys from the floor. Anything to make her comfortable. When my daughter was poked for her labs, everything was discussed prior to her stick, and Nicole always got her on the first try.
Nicole was an outlet after our frustration one day. She listened to our concerns and helped us figure out how to share our frustration with the Doctors. Nicole was by far my family's favorite nurse for our stay. We knew and looked forward to the nights Nicole worked because we knew we would be taken care of and had nothing to worry about.
