Her quick thinking and intervention led to more compassionate care and a clinical approach. She is an excellent example of a DAISY.
Kristen can effectively anticipate critical client needs when on the nursing unit for clinical. Kristen was able to escalate the immediate need for a Condition A. This client was recently taken off of bi-pap and had a very low oxygen saturation. Her quick intervention was to check the client. Due to her critical thinking skills, she was able to understand what the client was experiencing and notified the instructor. The client was a DNR/DNI so we were unable to start CPR. But Kristen was still an active participant in Condition A. A good communicator with the code team and helping with postmortem care afterward. Her quick thinking and intervention led to more compassionate care and a clinical approach. She is an excellent example of a DAISY.
