Kimberly Melchior has been a member of the Mercy team since 2016 and each year becomes even more compassionate to everyone around her. Over the years, Kim has organized outreach activities for the poor, for the environment, and even for the ICU. Kim is a natural leader that meets difficulties head-on with a positive spirit. She truly is a selfless, patient, and caring Nurse that puts her patients first.

Recently, a Covid-19 patient was actively dying. Kim stayed with the patient, holding her hand to keep her calm and from feeling lonely until her family arrived to say their goodbyes.

Another recently observed action of Kim's was when she found lodging for a family of one of our patients in the ICU. It was Christmas Eve, and the family had traveled far to see their loved one. With everywhere closed, the family had nowhere to go and had to stay in their car. Kim worked to find them a place to stay.

The list could go on and on. Kim is the kind of Nurse any patient would be fortunate to have. Kim is smart, caring, motivational, and a genuinely loving soul. We are honored to have her here at Mercy and we recognize her for her greatness in the ICU.
