Dan treated me as if we had been friends for many years
I was recently admitted to the hospital through the ER with extreme shortness of breath and at age 61 quite frightened for what was going on with my health most suddenly. I was seen immediately by Emergency Room staff and evaluated to determine what was going on with me. After approximately eight hours in the ER and multiple tests, it was determined I had experienced a massive Pulmonary Embolism and a Deep Vein Thrombosis. When the final test was done I was admitted to the ICU where I met the most amazing Nurse, Dan Huntington.
Dan’s professionalism and his knowledge of my illness were beyond impressive. As stated, I was quite nervous about my predicament and Dan treated me as if we had been friends for many years. We connected about things we had in common to the point where before I know it, I was no longer so afraid but felt I was truly in the hands of somebody I could trust and who truly cared about me as a patient and as a person.
The hours I spent under Dan's care while he prepped me for transport really put me at ease. I can't find enough words of praise for this amazing ICU Nurse. I could tell he cared for me no differently than he does for every single person who comes through the doors of the ICU.
Dan is the absolute best and Winchester Hospital is so fortunate to have him. Thank you Dan!
