Kimberly supports the team every day by providing emotional support and clinical guidance
Kimberly Blythe, APRN started in her new role at BMDA as our infusion center Nurse practitioner almost a year ago. Kimberly was the first person to take on this new role that we all knew was needed to support both the infusion center patients but even more the growing staff. Kimberly embraced this position like she has other roles in her career. She immediately stepped up as a leader and a mentor to the team. She pathed the way to be an onsite support for the patients with acute needs and a valuable resource for the nursing team. Over the past year, she has engaged in education and teaching for patients and staff. Kimberly supports the team every day by providing emotional support and clinical guidance.
Kimberly is exceptional in her role. She consistently receives wonderful patient feedback. Not only has she developed and grown this new role, but she has also been flexible at a minute's notice to fill in as a clinic NP when unanticipated absences occurred. No matter where she goes her physician colleagues want her to stay.
Kimberly made a hard decision to move over to an inpatient NP medical oncology position. This decision was not easy for her but she recognizes the value and leader she can be for not only the inpatient nursing team but also her new colleagues that will be learning the inpatient landscape. Kimberly’s compassion, empathy, kindness, and positive attitude make her an exceptional Nurse and Nurse practitioner but most importantly a true example of what it means to be a DAISY Nurse.
