I see Amy as the most hopeful person I've ever met
Amy Mott and I have worked together for just over a year in the TSICU. In that year I have watched her give her patients the most excellent care. The compassion and kindness that make up her core make her a blessing to her patients and her quick wit and brilliance make her an incredible coworker.
Recently, Amy has left me more in awe of her than I was before, which I did not know was possible. Amy volunteered to go to a small hospital in Chicago to work on their COVID ICU. She has told stories of this place that sound exhausting, high nurse-to-patient ratios, sweat-soaked PPE, however when asked if she'd go back she said she would!
She would call herself a pessimist, but I see Amy as the most hopeful person I've ever met. She sees positives in every situation, she cares for our patients dutifully and warmly, and she volunteered to help a community in need. I am so proud of Amy! Her support and friendship in the last year are something I treasure. We are all so lucky to have such a loving, sharp, and hilarious nurse amongst us.
