My mom was a patient in the ICU. We came with hope and little knowledge of the situation at hand. We were told the next twelve hours were crucial for my mom. We hoped our mom would come out of being septic. When Emma St. Aubin was there with us, she explained the medications my mom was receiving and why. She explained what had happened earlier in the day as well. We were not happy with the doctor and how he decided to speak about the situation. After he left Emma took the time to explain what he was saying with care and compassion. Emma laughed with us, she let us have our moments to grieve, and we did not feel rushed to leave the woman we love behind. Nurses like Emma are one of a kind! Emma is an extraordinary nurse who shows an enormous difference in the lives of many people especially our family.
