It is always a pleasure working with Lisa Macapagal. She makes my job as an anesthesiologist so much easier. Lisa not only helps to distract the kids by playing with them while I am trying to put them to sleep, but she also goes that extra mile to make their experience that much more special. Drawing upon her skills as an artist, Lisa would craft them 3D drawings of their favorite animated characters and engage them with play while connecting monitors or putting them to sleep. It is clear that Lisa genuinely cares about her patients, and in many instances, has drawn them a personalized sketch of something they like so they have something to look forward to when they wake up. This is all in addition to the exemplary work she does as an OR nurse, appropriately counseling patients and their families, being helpful and expedient when called upon, placing lines, and maintaining the airway when I need to help with a difficult IV. Lisa does it all, and I am proud and grateful to have her on my team.
