I'm reaching out to you in regards to a nurse working on 9c during my daylight shift. I had orders for respiratory treatments on an 82-year-old gentleman with a congested cough and coarse breath sounds. His code status was DNR, and he said to me that morning that he wanted the angels to take him. After lunchtime when I returned with another treatment, I overheard his conversation with his nurse. He was telling her that he was ready to die and that he wanted to be taken. He asked his nurse to pray with him. Because she didn’t know which religion he practiced, she asked him if he would start the prayer. Every line of prayer he said, his nurse repeated right back to him. It's not very often that we have an opportunity to stop and see a beautiful heart. The patient's nurse was Nadejda Kodjo. This facility is Lucky to have Nadejda, as this nurse shows her beautiful heart in the care she gives her patients.
