Ruth ensured that she got to know her patient who had learning disabilities in order to reassure and manage their anxieties and fear of treatment. Ruth would engage in activities to distract and effectively deliver treatment. Ruth has been compassionate of circumstances and gone above and beyond to deliver a person-centred service. Due to this, a relationship was formed that enabled treatment to be given whilst behaviours were managed. Ruth kept in touch and monitored the patient's condition in order to ensure early action was taken when ill health was experienced. Ruth made herself available to support the patient’s blood tests, scans and outpatient appointments. Ruth remained professional whilst delivering a caring approach and we would have found the whole situation more difficult to deal with without her support; a massive thank you from us all.
