April has handled some very difficult patient situations over the past year, but recently there was a patient that lived with her daughter and the house burned down so the daughter took the mother home with her to live in an RV. Once the daughter got her home there were some difficulties and the daughter was calling April every day. This week the daughter came up to the hospital with the patient to visit with April to try to get the mother placed due to the difficult living situation. I noticed April in the lobby speaking with this woman and being so kind and compassionate. Knowing that April would go above and beyond to help someone that is no longer in our hospital and assist in such a special situation speaks volumes to April's character.

What I respect and admire so much about April is her deep caring for her patients and her work team. She has picked up her children late so many times from daycare, and I know it breaks her heart. She is just very devoted to her work and her team, that she will go and talk with an upset patient or a patient with questions when it's time for her to go home. Her job comes first, even after hours. April has such a positive attitude and I know it helps me and other team members to keep a positive attitude when the stress level is so high. She is a wonderful Case Manager and is respected well by her team. She is wonderful with patients. I have seen and heard many times of her giving comfort to patients and families.
