Carla has served this organization and community for over 30 years. I have worked with Carla in different capacities since I started but the last year I have worked by her side. There is not a week that goes by that Carla does not receive recognition from a patient, family, or colleague.

Not long ago a patient stopped by asking for Carla. I explained it was her day off and asked if I could help. The patient said, “Yes, please tell her that I am home now and thank her for saving my life.” The patient went on to tell me that she has had several visits to the ER, but she knew she was in bad shape this time. She explained that as soon as she saw Carla, she knew she would be okay. The patient was in critical condition and work was done quickly to get her airlifted. The years of dedication, skill, caring, and compassion that Carla has are irreplaceable. I do not have the amount of paper it would take to write everything that is so special about Carla.

She is truly an extraordinary nurse!
