Leah is very polite, professional, and plain and simple-caring.
When I first came to the ICU on Saturday, I had tried to overdose on Jack Daniels and 2 different blood pressure medications. I realize now that was a mistake. Since the time I arrived, she listened to what I had to say just for the sake of listening to me. She had to put tubes in me in places I would never have dreamed of. I even gave her some money so she ran to the vending machine. It made an awkward and ugly situation much easier to manage and made me feel she went above and beyond.
We were admitted to the unit around 0600. My daughter had been particularly busy as she had been admitted with increased seizures. Leah had to manage her regular medications, which is not an easy feat as well as managing getting medications ordered for when my daughter started to have clusters of seizures, to new medications being ordered as the results of her LTM that was occurring (all in real-time). And she still kept us up to date as to any new test that was ordered. My daughter is on keto, so frequent runs to the refrigerator for her heavy cream was also included in Leah's many tasks throughout the day. This was just for my daughter. Leah is very polite, professional, and plain and simple-caring. Despite how busy she was, she was very attentive throughout her shift. My daughter enjoyed having Leah as her nurse.
