Amber will push her patients to do their best and is a champion for their well-being.
Amber started working with us as an aide. She worked her way up the ranks to an LPN and then eventually to an RN. It is this kind of perseverance that shines so flaringly through her patient care. I nominated her because of her constant focus on providing the highest standard of care for the patients she serves. This nurse always comes to work with a smile, yet very focused on seeing to it that her patients are making progress forward. She always greets her patients with warmness and genuine focus on their health.  On many occasions, she is seen helping create realistic goals with patients.  Activity goals and goals that stimulate.  Autonomy goals that increase the patients' ability to maintain optimism about their progress. She is never too busy to provide the best care to our patients.  You will often find her taking patients for walks, offering showers or just going the extra mile to give them a little TLC.

Her tough, yet tender care approach has helped patients succeed with meeting their goals. She takes the time to encourage patients in what seems like simple achievements yet bringing delight and awareness to the patients' accomplishments. It is not uncommon after she has worked with a patient for a shift to see a change in demeanor.  Patients are more ambitious to improve and push towards health after she is their nurse for a shift.  The change in ability and ambition is obvious and contagious.

Amber will push her patients to do their best and is a champion for their well-being.  Her upbeat attitude is inspirational to both patients and staff.  One thing I appreciate the most about her is that she is not afraid to ask questions.  Whether it is an advocate for the patient or to gain a better understanding of the plan of care.  Her inquisitive nature is one of her biggest strengths as a nurse. She pushes those around her to strive towards excellent patient care.  It is not uncommon when she has a break in her day-to-day tasks to see her sitting next to a patient having a conversation and taking time for the patient to be seen and heard in a personal sense.

Also knowing a little about Amber outside of work, I know she is a dedicated mother and active member of her community.  She invests the same level of dedication into her work when she is here.  We are lucky to have her as part of our team and we would all do well to be a little more like this nurse.
