Tanya Hunt has nursing in her DNA. I had the privilege of working alongside her on a difficult case that I had been consulted on. This patient was coming to terms with his terminal diagnosis and had the most extreme anxiety and restlessness. Tanya took his every demand in stride with such grace and heart.

On the second day she had the option to switch her assignment in the morning but chose to keep him as her patient and stayed with him as he transitioned to comfort care. She personifies the heart and soul of nursing. I cannot capture in words what a difficult assignment this was or how she never showed anything but kindness and patience. Hopefully, this nomination is a small recognition of my appreciation.
