Craig was nominated for this award by a community paramedic on behalf of a patient for putting the needs of the patient first in every interaction.

"As I was transporting and admitting the patient to the advanced care at home program, the patient expressed several times how impressed and thankful the patient was for the care received by nurses and support staff, especially Chelsey Craig. The patient was in complete awe of the care received from her and articulated that to me over and over again."

The nomination described how Craig showed compassion and validated the patient's feelings. Craig displayed excellence with the care she performed. She showed respect in every interaction. She uplifted the patient's spirit. And she displayed integrity, honesty, and directness.

"I feel so thankful and honored to receive the DAISY Award," says Craig. "It's amazing how even small acts of kindness can have such a positive impact on the patients we take care of. I am also thankful for my fellow co-workers in Neurology/Pediatrics/Trauma. I am truly grateful that I'm part of such a hardworking, supportive team."
